Donald Trump is an American business magnate, television personality, and the 45th United States. He is the chairman and president of The Trump Organization, the principal holding company for his real estate investments and other business interests.

Trump was born and raised in the Queens borough of New York City and earned an economics degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He took charge of The Trump Organization, the real estate and construction firm founded by his father, Fred Trump, in 1971. During his business career, Trump has built office towers, hotels, casinos, golf courses, and other branded facilities worldwide. Trump's presidential campaign was marked by controversial remarks and positions, including his advocacy of a temporary ban on Muslim immigration to the United States and his criticism of NATO and other international institutions. He won the 2016 presidential election, defeating Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in the Electoral College. His election and policies have sparked numerous protests. Trump has made a number of false or misleading statements during his campaign and presidency. Trump has signed several executive orders that have had significant political and economic implications, including the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, the 2017 executive order to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, and the 2018 executive order to end family separations at the U.S.-Mexico border. He has also withdrawn the United States from the Paris Agreement, the Trans-Pacific Partnership, and the Iran nuclear deal.
