"Benazir Bhutto" (1953 – 2007) Prime Minister of Pakistan 1993 – 1996

Benazir Bhutto was a Pakistani politician and the 11th Prime Minister of Pakistan. She was the first woman to lead a Muslim-majority country and the first female Prime Minister of Pakistan. She was born on June 21, 1953, in Karachi, Pakistan. Bhutto was a daughter of renowned Pakistani politician Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Begum Nusrat Bhutto.

Bhutto attended Harvard University and earned a degree in Comparative Government in 1973. After completing her studies at Harvard, she enrolled in the Oxford University and obtained a Ph.D. in political science in 1977. Bhutto entered politics in the late 1970s and served as the chairperson of the Pakistan People's Party. She was elected as the Prime Minister of Pakistan in 1988 and served two consecutive terms. During her tenure, she promoted economic reforms, women's rights, and democratic reforms. She also campaigned for the release of political prisoners, including her father, who had been imprisoned by the military regime of General Zia-ul-Haq. Following her resignation as Prime Minister in 1996, Bhutto moved to Dubai, United Arab Emirates. She remained in exile for 8 years and returned to Pakistan in 2007
