Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics characters Scott Lang / Ant-Man and Hope van Dyne/Wasp. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is intended to be the direct sequel to 2018's Ant-Man and the Wasp and the third film in the Ant-Man film series. The film is directed by Peyton Reed and stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kathryn Newton, and Jonathan Majors, with the latter two playing Cassie Lang and Kang the Conqueror, respectively.
The film follows Scott and Hope teaming up with Cassie and an alternate version of Janet van Dyne from the Quantum Realm to fight the villain Kang, who is looking to take control of all of time and space. It is set to be the first MCU film to feature a trans actor in a major role, with Majors playing the alternate version of Janet. The film is scheduled to be released in theaters in the United States on February 17, 2023.
