His family moved to Wilmington, North Carolina, where he attended Laney High School.Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team, but that didn’t stop him from working hard to become one of the greatest. He worked tirelessly on his skills, and eventually earned a spot on the varsity team. He was named a McDonalds All-American, and was selected by the Chicago Bulls in the 1984 NBA Draft.
MJ quickly became a sensation in the NBA. He led the Bulls to six NBA Championships, and was named the NBA Most Valuable Player five times. He was a ten-time NBA All-Star and an Olympic Gold Medalist. Jordan also made history by becoming the first player to win three consecutive MVP awards.
