Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7: Will Kushal Punjabi and Tara–Jean Popowich win the wild card entry?

Next week the six wild card entries will prove their mettle in front of the judges who will decide which contestant stays and who will leave the show

It’s the Wild card special on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7 next week, where older contestants will challenge the six new entrants to a face off. Will it be RJ Malishka, singers Rahul Vaidya and Akriti Kakkar or Kainaat Arora, Kushal Punjabi or international dancer Tara-Jean Popowich?

Well we saw their entry last weekend and were not too impressed. Rahul Vaidya entered the show singing. Now we know that he is an amazing singer, but isn’t this a dance competition?

RJ Malishka entered the show talking non-stop as usual. She requested Madhuri to teach her the Tamma tamma signature step, which she apparently, has been trying to master since childhood. Well we don’t know about her dancing skills, but there doesn’t seem much hope.

Being a Bollywood babe, surely Kainaat Arora must have some basic knowledge in dancing, but her entry on Jhalak didn’t really give us any signs of it, nor did the singer Akriti Kakkar. While theSaturday saturday singer moved with grace, the Jhalak stage is a whole new ball game.

Telly actor Kushal Punjabi showed us his moves and with little help from a trained choreographer, we believe he can do wonders.

Is Tiger Shroff the most generous actor in B-town?

Not so long time ago, we had told you how Tiger Shroff gave a break to his dance teacher in his music video, which he will be releasing as a tribute to Michael Jackson. However, Tiger has yet again proved that he’s the best student any teacher could have. We hear that when Heropanti hit the theatres, Tiger’s gym trainer held a special screening of the film for two consecutive days in Vasai and wished that the actor attended the screenings. And as a dutiful student, Tiger did just that on both the days! On another occasion, Tiger’s dance teacher wanted him to attend an event at a college in Badlapur. When he requested so from the Heropanti actor, he happily agreed.

When Tiger was asked about these incidents, the actor said, “They are my teachers and if there is anything they need me to do, I will make myself available as much as I can.”

Jumme ki raat

Sung by Mika Singh and Palak Muchhal, the song opens the album with a bang! Full of energy and with colorful lyrics Jumme ki raat has already set the charts on fire. Mika’s vocals do full justice to the tone and flavor of the song and Jacqueline’s sizzling chemistry with Salman has only made the song hotter!

Hangover

Salman makes his debut on the album as a singer with Hangover. Not the best track on the album, but the tune and melody might grow on you. There is a certain playfulness to Salman’s voice that the music composer has retained on the track. Especially on the chorus where the word Hangover is in loop.

Tu hi tu

Mohd Irfan croons this beautiful ballad which has a haunting melody. The lyrics are simple and the track actually is quite hummable. Every Salman movie has a ballad for him to romance the girl, Tu hi tu is one of the better ballads to come out from his films in recent times.

Yaar na miley

Honey Singh pops up on this song with a hard hip-hop beat. The Punjabi fusion with a thug beat in the backdrop gives the song a different flavour. Honey Singh does his usual thing, though we wish his verse was better. The chorus of the song is catchy and Nargis Fakri and Salman will be seen dancing to it.

Jumme Ki Raat (Salman version)

After hearing Mika’s version, Salman’s rendition of the same song sounds a bit off key. Given the fact that the actor is not a trained singer, his vocals sounds too over produced and strained. We are sure he had a great time recording it in the booth with his antics.

Hangover (MBA swag)

We preferred this version of Meet Bros to Salman’s. There is more melody and the tune sounds better with their vocals. Also the tempo is faster with some Punjabi Bhangra flavour and rap in the verses.

Tu Hi Tu (Salman version)

Salman should have stayed away from singing a ballad. He might sound decent on a dance number, but his voice cracks and you can hear the flaws in his voice on this track. Not a great way to close the album, we hope the makers refrained from remixing this ballad and letting Salman massacre it.

A little birdie tells us that Arjun Rampal has given a nod to Soni Razdan’s directorial venture Love Affair. While Alia Bhatt confirmed, she isn’t a part of her mother’s project, sources say that Arjun will most certainly star in it

. We hear that the Roy actor will play the lead in the film based on the well known Nanavati murder case. Arjun, who has given a nod to Love Affair is currently busy shooting for Roy and is yet to sign the dotted line.

Amala Paul’s journey from bachelorhood to marriage hasn’t been easy. For almost six months, every single move of Thalaiva girl was minutely scrutinised by the media. Everyday a new rumour would arise, a new controversy would spark making life difficult for the starlet.

Recently we heard that after being chucked off from Telugu film Vastha Nee Venukadue to her marriage announcement, Amala Paul had been shown the door by director Joshiy from his film Laila O Laila. It was rumoured that comeback queen Manju Warrier would be replacing the dusky beauty. But Amala Paul back in town post her honeymoon, rubbished all the rumours and said that she was still a part of Laila O Laila.

This would be the second time Amala will be teaming up with Mohanlal and Joshiy after 2012 blockbuster Run Baby Run. Amala informed that she would be joining Laila O Laila team soon once she wraps up with Nivy Paul’s Mili.

Akshay Kumar lip-syncs to a woman’s voice for It’s Entertainment’s song Johnny Johnny.....

Yes, you heard that right! Guess it can’t get funnier, hai na?

If men dressing in woman’s garb wasn’t a trend enough already in Bollywood, here’sAkshay Kumar trying out something new – he lip-syncs to a female voice for thesong Johnny Johnny for It’s Entertainment. The song is the first to be released from the album of the forthcoming film It’s Entertainment, which marks the directorial debut of writers Farhad-Sajid.

The track, based on a very popular nursery rhyme, has Akshay lip-synching to a female’s voice in a fun avatar. He will be seen singing some hilarious lines like “Maine pe nahiii” and “Haanji main peela di gayi“. The lines are extremely catchy and the grooving music has taken the song to a different level.

Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon: Will Madhu’s pregnancy bring her closer to Raja

They say a mother has the strength to forgive the worst of all crimes, but will Madhu let off Raja?

Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon has just got a month’s extension and the makers are trying to make the show as interesting as possible. But will it work in their favour or not remains to be seen. The current track in the daily soap has Madhu (Drashti Dhami) pregnant with Raja’s (Vivian DSena) child.

Madhu initially wants to abort the baby ‘coz she is pregnant post the rape incident and she does not wish to bear a child who would be a constant reminder of the incident. However, Madhu changes her mind and decides against it. Dauji (Ravi Khanvilkar) is thrilled with the news but when he hears Madhu’s conditions of bearing the child, he is shocked.

Madhu tells  Raja‘s family that she will give birth to a child only if they get Bhabhi, who is a widow, remarried. This comes as a big shock to the family, who are obviously very backward in their thought. However, Madhu finds her support in Raja.

AR Rahman: Being home is the best place to be during holy fasting.....

The musical maestro is on a month long visit in India

AR Rahman is on a rare month-long visit home and he is making the best of this month-long stay in India, his longest visit home in a year. Besides spending time with his wife, children and mother Rahman is also here to take a quick look at his music school in Chennai, of which he is rightly proud. Speaking on the growth of the school Rahman says, “It all started because I felt talented kids with a musical aptitude didn’t know where to go.The older generation of musicians seemed to be tuned into traditional musical instruments and ragas while the youngsters were getting more and more involved with electronic music and gadgets. I wanted a meeting-point where young students could learn about music in its various forms and interpretations.”

Today the maverick musician, straddling India and the West effortlessly is proud of the progress made by his school. “By God’s grace, the school is now a college. It’s like my extended family. Every student is important to me.I share a parent-child relationship with each one of them.I want them all to go out in the world as well-versed musicians. That’s the aim with which this institution was started.” Luckily for Rahman he doesn’t have to worry about the day day-to-day working of the music academy. “My sister takes care of it.She is running my dream-institution beautifully.”
