They did it last year. They have done it again.
The holy month of Ramzan once again saw friends turned foes Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan hug each other at MLA Baba Siddique's annual Iftaar party, hosted at Mumbai's Taj Lands End Hotel this evening about  two hours ago.
Shah Rukh Khan arrived first. Salman arrived 20 minutes later. No sooner had Salman arrived, the shutterbugs, who were restricted to the red carpet followed Salman inside the venue of the party.
Baba Siddique took Salman around to meet all the guests present on the occasion. When Salman came near SRK's table the two greeted each other cordially, shook hands and hugged each other.

When Salman was asked about the likelihood of seeing him again with SRK he responded by saying,"Yeh sab Baba hi kara sakta hai. Yeh sab Iftaar tak hi seemith nahin.  Inshallah aap humein aage bhi saath dekh sakte ho! "
Salim Khan, Sohial Khan, Sunil Shetty, Aditya Pancholi and Chief Minister of Maharashtra Prithviraj Chauhan were other guests present on the occasion.
Last year, there was much speculation in industry circles about whether  Shah Rukh and Salman would call a truce after they had hugged and greeted each other cordially at the Iftaar part hosted by Baba Siddique.  Of course nothing of the sort happened.

The paths of the superstars had crossed again at the Star Guild Awards this January, which Salman had hosted at NSCI stadium in Mumbai. The two superstars had hugged each other when Shah Rukh went up on stage to receive the Best Entertainer of the Year Award for his film Chennai Express.
Receiving the award SRK had said it was a great time for him to get an award in the company of Salman, who is one of the greatest entertainers the country has ever seen.
According to eyewitness present both the superstars were in great spirits at the party.

Bobby Jasoos

Movie Review: Bobby Jasoos

Bobby Jasoos
Director: Samar Shaikh
Cast: Vidya Balan, Ali Fazal, Supriya Pathak, Rajendra Gupta, Tanve Azmi, Kiran Kumar and Arjan Bajwa

The notion that Vidya Balan is the hero of her films has been around for years. It’s a great sentiment one that lends a sense of justice to cinema. But that trend alone can’t be enough to make a film worthy of the price of its admission ticket. There needs to be a balance between the star and the content. Bobby Jasoos lacks wit and the right kind of punch. But where the film and its narrative dodder, Vidya picks up the charge and delivers a hit.

While it might not be boring, Bobby Jasoos is also not too endearing with its creative. Vidya Balan plays a simple Hyderabadi girl who has aspirations of being a wily professional detective. But like any rookie, she has no clue about how the profession actually works. While she’s good at changing guises she’s not clued in to the science of investigation. It’s a damn good premise. One that has plenty of room for thrills and drama. But director Samar Shaikh and his writing partner Sanyukta Chawla have a long way to go at learning the ropes of good story telling. Emotions are best left sublime. In your face family sentimentality works in soap operas not in cinematic plots that require genuine tact and guile.

Despite short comings on what is his debut film, Shaikh is a promising filmmaker. He knows how to sneak in references and homage. And he certainly knows how to work with his actors. Pity he was working with such a pat script and screenplay. Ali Fazal as a not-too-cocky and sufficiently-charming young man is the best part of Bobby Jasoos. His performance though limited, rakes up the right kind of energy. He’s not as old as he should be to have a comfortable pairing with Vidya Balan. Yet, he makes it work and that’s nothing short of a compliment. Vidya’s performance shows you why she’s considered ‘the’ actor. Most of the times she’s hidden behind disguise, but in the times she’s not, she shows how subtlety can steal the show.

The songs in Bobby Jasoos are a departure from the EDM inspired tunes you usually get in Hindi movies. It’s a welcome relief to see these melodious numbers unfold on the screen. It’s a shame that their placement within the film’s timeline is so jarring.

Lekar Hum Deewana Dil

Movie Review: Lekar Hum Deewana Dil

Director: Arif Ali
Cast: Armaan Jain, Deeksha Seth

When you walk into the theatre to watch a film that’s premise promises a road trip, you’re naturally excited. We’ve seen some good films in which a road trip forms the major crux of a story. Starting from Bombay To Goa leading up to Dil Chahta Hai, Jab We Met, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and the recently released, Highway.

However, Lekar Hum Deewana Dil can’t be counted in the above category. Two of the above mentioned films were by director Arif’s brother, Imtiaz Ali but he doesn’t seem to have his brother’s flair.

The film’s premise of two youngsters eloping and discovering their love for one another and more importantly, finding themselves, is exciting but it lacks the humour and depth needed to keep the audience interested.

Dino (Armaan Jain) and Karishma (Deeksha Seth) are college best friends. Karishma comes from a conservative ‘Shetty’ parivaar, so her parents want to marry her off at 21. But Dino can’t see Karishma’s life being thrown away like that. So over lots of beer, they decide that since they know each other for a while, they’ll be perfect together. Then, after a little sober deliberation, the knight in shining armour rescues his lady and elopes into the sunset.

For example, while the two kids have had a relatively modern upbringing, the girl shies away from having sex with the boy she’s run away with and ridicules him because he likes dirty talk. And knowing they were eloping, she even chides the boy for not telling her to carry enough money! Then, there’s an item song in the middle of nowhere.

After a point, reasons for their mutual respect turning into hatred, simply seem juvenile. AR Rahman’s score comes as a breath of fresh air but it isn’t enough to salvage the movie. There are some touching moments like the boy helping his brother find his true love, as he’s trying to figure out his own life. But moments like these are few and far between.

Both the newcomers, Armaan and Deeksha are pleasant. While Armaan needs more polish, his sincerity and innocence is likeable. Give him a good script and he’ll certainly shine. Deeksha stands out in light-hearted scenes.

Hangover Video Song | Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez | Meet Bro...

The video of Salman Khan's singing debut track Hangover from Kick is out! It is the second song of the film that is released after Jumme Ki Raat.

In the video, Salman Khan and his leading lady Jacqueline Fernandez sizzle together while shaking a leg to the track. Popular choreographer Ahmed Khan has given Salman and Jacqueline their dance moves for the song.

While Salman, sporting an earring, wears a bright red jacket over a regular tee, Jacqueline looks pretty in a cream- gold sleeveless dress.
Hangover has been composed and sung by Meet Brothers Anjjan. The trio comprises musicians Harmeet Singh, Manmeet Singh and Anjjan Bhatacharya.
Kick brings back Salman Khan to the big screen after the rather disappointing box-office show of his last film, Jai Ho. The industry hopes Kick, a action thriller that marks bigwig producer Sajid Nadiadwala's directorial debut, will set some records.
